Val Thorens resort has everything you’d expect in a modern ski village – a tourist office, post office, medical centre, church, and a radio station. There’s also a good sports centre and swimming pool; Val Thorens Club des Sports- which offers a wide range of both exercise and relaxation activities; and a plentiful variety of shops, restaurants and bars; as well as a bowling alley and small games arcade.
Val Thorens is part of the largest ski area in the world; the Trois Vallees, which includes Courchevel and Meribel with over 600 kilometres of runs and 99% of the ski area situated above 2,000 metres, Val Thorens offers excellent conditions so you can enjoy yourself to the max. Its lofty altitude means that doorstep skiing with guaranteed snow cover is possible from November to May.
Val Thorens’s terrain suits everyone from beginner to expert. The resort is not only linked into the vast network of trails across the Trois Vallées, but also into the neighbouring fourth valley: the Maurienne.
The town includes a huge range of facilities other than skiing.
